A few minutes later the military personnel arrived in Via Ricciardi Santa Maria Capua Vetere, where they knocked in vain on the door of the reported house.
After becoming aware of the presence of someone inside the apartment, they requested the intervention of the Fire fighters who immediately granted access.
The Carabinieri thus found the 54-year-old woman in the bedroom, sitting on one side of the bed with a large knife pointed at her throat and a pair of scissors on the nightstand. At the sight of the soldiers, she screamed that she wanted to take her own life, ordering them to move away immediately.
Only after an exhausting negotiation, during which the woman repeatedly threatened the police by pointing a knife and scissors at them, the soldiers, taking advantage of a moment of distraction on her part, managed to safely block her and disarm her, thus allowing the 118 medical personnel, who were called to the scene, to provide her with the necessary care.
