Tonight he will know his opponent between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. Daniil defeated after 2 hours and 30 minutes of play with the score 6-3, 6-7, 6-1: third victory in a row against the Russian, once again at the end of a battle of tennis and nerves.

he stayed in the game during the difficult moments, Medvedev appeared nervous, which cost him a crash in the third set. The first set is Sinner's in 46'. The South Tyrolean closes the set with the score of 6-3 in 45 minutes, capitalizing on the break conceded by Medvedev in the fourth game.

A bad run cost the Russian dearly, who made 4 consecutive errors for a 40-0. Sinner struggled to get the first serve in (only 51%), but remained cool and lucid in the moments of difficulty.

The Italian tried to shorten the exchanges as much as possible since Medvedev won most of the points over nine shots. In the second set Medvedev started well and held his serve at 30. After a forehand error for 30-30, the Russian won two consecutive points with a backhand in advance and an ace, the fourth of the match. The serve accompanied Sinner.

At the eighth game we are 4-4. Sinner continues to have great difficulty on long rallies, but Medvedev is struggling on the right return. The result is a game won by the Italian in deuce with a first serve winner and an ace in the center.

Very balanced set. Medvedev takes a 6-5 lead but Sinner holds serve at 30, showing great lucidity from 30-30 with two points won in a row and it's a tie break. Two consecutive aces send Medvedev to 6-3 thanks to the mini-break won on the third point. Sinner cancels a set point, not the second, it ends 7-4 in 1h04'.

The Russian raised his level, increasing his percentage of first serves and playing closer and closer to the baseline. Sinner, who appeared a bit tired, often indulged in long-range exchanges that smiled on his opponent.

Side problem for Medvedev who leaves the court accompanied by the physiotherapist for treatment. Third set, Sinner immediately shakes off the weight of the lost set and wins the first game. In the second game the balance is immediately broken.

The Russian, trailing 3-0 in the third set, argues with a spectator

Medvedev suffers a blank passage. Three break points conceded by the Russian who cancels the first two from 15-40, but on the third he commits a double fault. Consolidated break. Sinner holds serve at 15 against a very nervous Medvedev, sanctioned by the chair umpire with a warning after an argument with a spectator (3-0 Sinner).

Medvedev moves the score, holding his serve at fifteen, finding continuity with the first serve. Both are starting to feel tired, but so far the Russian is paying for his lack of lucidity at the start of the set (3-1 Sinner). A lightning-fast cross-court backhand gives Sinner a game (4-1) that allows him to keep Medvedev at a distance.

The Italian's box pushes Jannik who is now more lucid than his opponent. Sixth decisive game: After 8 extraordinary minutes the Italian breaks Medvedev's service for the second time in the set. The seventh game is a monologue by Sinner that goes down in history.
