For the first time, part of the cast of “Un posto al sole” moved to Turin for the filming of the historic Italian television series, broadcast on Rai3 since 1999 and approaching its thirtieth anniversary.
From last Sunday until Friday, under the Mole Antonelliana, the Cirillo twins, played by Gina Amarante, left Naples for personal reasons, creating havoc in the lives of their loved ones.
Also present were her older sister Serena (Miriam Candurro), her husband Filippo (Michelangelo Tommaso) and Niko Poggi (Luca Turco).
The direction of the Turin days of “Un posto al sole” – produced by Rai Fiction, Fremantle and the Rai Production Centre in Naples – is entrusted to Fabio Sabbioni, creative producer.
The scenes, made with the support of Film Commission Torino and in collaboration with the Rai Production Center in Turin, will be distributed over five episodes to be aired in the coming months; in particular, filming is scheduled for April 25 at the Museo della Resistenza. The locations include the Museo del Risorgimento, Palazzo Carignano, the Gran Madre Church, Piazza San Carlo, Piazza Castello, the Belvedere dei Cappuccini and Parco del Valentino.
"For me it's the first extralocation, it's like a school trip. Even if it's work, we have fun. We are friends even off the set, we go on vacation together", commented Gina Amarante.
“There is also a beautiful sun, we were lucky. We spent the first two days in museums, then outdoors. It is a romantic story, important because it represents the fulfillment of something that we have been dragging for a long time. I won't say more. Turin brings light to a love story,” explained Sabbioni.
“We travel a bit, we've been to Bologna, Florence, Trentino. We missed Turin. It's a capital, very monumental, a very beautiful city. It has a beautiful setting. We like to talk about Italy,” he added.
Sabbioni describes “Un posto al sole” as “a popular product with a very direct language, which enters everyone’s homes, every day. They are realistic stories that ordinary people can identify with. A narrative terrain as realistic as possible. The audience? They are mostly women over 50, but the number of young people is increasing”.
