Wheelies on scooters are a widespread phenomenon in Naples, but they do not always have a happy ending. In a video published on Instagram by the profile “shclub_catania”, a boy can be seen who, after several meters of doing wheelies, loses control of the vehicle and crashes into a parked car. The episode occurred in Fuorigrotta, as you can read from the hashtags.
The Green-Left alliance MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli, to whom the video was reported by several users, declared: “Unfortunately, the community pays for his dangerous and uncivilized performances with the damage he causes (it seems he is uninsured) and with the health care costs that we all pay for."
“While it is true that those who commit these crazy actions are not necessarily criminals, in the strict sense of the term”, continues Borrelli, “it cannot be hidden that anyone who puts the lives of others in danger by driving around like a madman is definitely a criminal.”
