Yesterday evening, shortly after 21pm, an accident occurred in Via Cervantes, a few steps away from the Naples Town Hall.
A young man riding a motorcycle crashed into a street lamp, knocking it down. After the fall, the young man ran away and disappeared.
The aluminum streetlight then fell onto a parked car, damaging the windows and bodywork. Fortunately, there were no injuries to those present at the scene.
The scene was filmed by some of those present with their cell phones and the men of the mobile police unit intervened on the spot, followed by the municipal police and the firefighters.
Investigations are underway to determine the causes of the accident and whether the young man was driving a stolen vehicle.
The episode brought to the minds of residents the previous accident that also occurred in via Cervantes last May, when a street lamp fell due to the wind and the festoons set up to celebrate Napoli's championship, slightly injuring a shopkeeper.
