From December 3rd on the website the video on the history of the Palace in sign language.
With the usual slogan One day a year all year round, the Ministry of Culture adheres, also for this year, to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3 and promotes its underlying values, committing itself to ensuring the best conditions of access to cultural heritage.
On the occasion of this anniversary, the Royal Palace of Naples will make available on its website the video “A journey for everyone”, the history of the Royal Palace of Naples with translation into LIS – Italian sign language, created as part of the 'DAI Project – reception point for disabled people' and implemented by the former BAPPSAE Superintendency of Naples and its province with the contribution of the Campania Region.
The video, created to enhance the cognitive, sensorial and cultural accessibility of its environments and collections, will be published starting from Sunday 3 December on the Museum's website permanently at the link: https://palazzorealedinapoli.org/accessibilita/
Proclaimed in 1992 by the UN, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities focuses public debate and discussion on the theme of the universal right to full and effective participation of each individual in the political, social, economic and cultural spheres of society and on the need to contribute to the elimination of all obstacles that limit respect for the fundamental rights of the person.
An opportunity to remember that at the Royal Palace all architectural barriers that could limit the possibility of independent movement by visitors with motor disabilities have been eliminated. The elevators allow easy access to the level of the Museum and the Hanging Garden and the absence of height differences on the main floor allows full and free use of the museum spaces for all visitors. There are toilets for people with disabilities, wheelchairs and tactile itineraries for the blind and visually impaired (upon reservation, by specialized staff of the Museum's Educational Services) with videos in LIS.
