The soldiers of the Carabinieri Forestry Unit of Roccarainola, as part of the campaign of controls on the Sarno river called “Rinascita Sarno”, carried out an inspection at a body shop in the municipality of Striano.
During the inspection, the military found a total lack of authorization to operate a body shop, as well as the authorization required by the Consolidated Environmental Act.
Furthermore, the military found an uncontrolled deposit of hazardous waste in an area adjacent to the garage and belonging to it. The garage was seized along with the equipment used and the waste storage site. The managers of the business, a 28-year-old and a 34-year-old, both from Striano, were reported at large for illegally exercising the business and illegal waste management.
Both were also reported to the Chamber of Commerce for failure to register in the Register of Companies carrying out the activity of a car repair shop as required by the legislation on road safety and regulation of the activity of car repairers. The legislation provides, in addition to the seizure of the premises and confiscation of the equipment, also a fine of 15.493 euros.
