He raped a tourist in Sorrento: Tunisian arrested

Today, in Marsala, Sicily, the Carabinieri of the Sorrento Company executed a prison custody order issued by the GIP

The investigation, conducted by the Police and coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, began when the victim reported having been raped at night on the street by a man she had just met.

Thanks to the information provided by the woman and the testimonies acquired, the dynamics of the event were precisely reconstructed.

The perpetrator allegedly convinced the victim to accompany him for a drink and, taking advantage of the late hour and the absence of people, violently forced her to undergo sexual acts against her will.

The investigations have led to a circumstantial evidence against the suspect. The latter, an employee of a commercial activity located in Sorrento at the time of the facts, he was arrested in Marsala and subsequently taken to the Casa Santa prison in Trapani.
