Three people on board a stolen car were involved in a fatal accident that occurred last night near RomeThe car, which was traveling at high speed, overturned on Via Casilina near the municipality of Segni and was engulfed in flames.
Two men died instantly, while the third was taken to hospital in serious condition. The alarm was raised by some passers-by. The Carabinieri of the Segni and Gavignano stations and the Nucleo Radiomobile of the Colleferro company intervened on the scene, in addition to the firefighters who put out the flames.
The injured man, thrown out of the car, was taken to the hospital in red code and admitted in danger of life. The car and some burglary tools found in the trunk were seized by the Carabinieri.
The bodies of the two victims were transferred to the mortuary of the Policlinico Tor Vergata where, thanks to fingerprints, they were identified. The three occupants of the car are all citizens Albanians, domiciled in Rome, with previous convictions for property crimes.
The Carabinieri are investigating to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident and to ascertain the origin of the stolen car.
