An operation by the Carabinieri of the Forestry Nucleus led to the discovery of a car demolition and used car accessories sales business operating without the necessary authorizations. The seizure involved a yard of approximately 2.700 square meters, two warehouses of approximately 150 square meters, 14 out-of-use vehicles and 4 packages containing license plates and related documentation. The person responsible for the illegal activity has been reported.
The military action follows the checks conducted as part of the control campaign on the management of car dismantling plants, ordered by the Carabinieri Forestale Group of Benevento. During the inspection, it emerged that car dismantling operations were underway on the yard without the necessary precautions to prevent contact of liquids and metal waste with the ground. Furthermore, numerous used car components were found, stored on metal shelves inside the warehouses, presumably intended for subsequent sale.
The seizure was validated by the court of Benevento, while the person responsible for the activity was also charged with the crime of carrying out work on assets of significant landscape interest. This is because the entire territory of Sant'Agata de' Goti is subject to environmental restrictions.
