Una partita di calcio che doveva essere una normale trasferta si è trasformata in una tragica emergenza medica per un giovane di 20 anni proveniente di Olbia. Durante il match, il ragazzo si è improvvisamente sentito male ed è stato trasportato d’urgenza in ospedale, dove è stato diagnosticato con una meningitis di tipo B e ricoverato in condizioni gravi.
La drammatica situazione si è verificata domenica, quando il giovane atleta ha accusato il malore durante la partita. Dopo essere stato trasferito al reparto di Rianimazione, a causa del peggioramento delle sue condizioni, è stato successivamente trasferito all’ospedale Brotzu di Cagliari per ulteriori accertamenti. Dopo una notte di preoccupazione, il suo stato è migliorato e è stato trasferito nuovamente al Santissima Trinità di Olbia, dove viene costantemente monitorato.
The health authorities, both of the ASL of Cagliari and the ASL Gallura, immediately started an epidemiological investigation to identify the contacts of the young man and determine where he might have contracted meningitis. A prophylaxis program was also started for the boy's family, friends and close contacts.
“The ASL Gallura promptly started the epidemiological investigation, the prophylaxis of the family members and the health surveillance”, declared the Hygiene and Public Health service of the ASL Gallura. “At the moment, about thirty people in Northern Sardinia have undergone prophylaxis”. The ASL of Cagliari has also taken preventive measures against the young man's close contacts.
