La Church of Monteoliveto, known as Sant'Anna dei Lombardi, houses the Renaissance masterpiece of the Lamentation by Guido Mazzoni.
The 1492 terracotta sculpture group has started a restoration project that offers the opportunity to contribute by adopting a statue or participating with a donation to Friends of Naples. The recovery includes the conservative restoration of the sculpture group, the creation of anti-seismic bases and a new lighting system.
Adopt a statue for restoration
The “Adopt a statue” initiative invites you to contribute to the restoration of the Lamentation of St. Anna dei Lombardi by adopting one of the monument's statues or by participating with a voluntary donation. The project aims to reach the 100 thousand euros needed to complete the restoration of the priceless Renaissance work of art. Napoli.

The President of Friends of Naples, Alberto Sifola, expresses gratitude to the Superintendence and sponsors for their commitment to the restoration of the Compianto. The initiative aims to involve new donors to preserve the beauty and history of the city of Naples. The restoration project, scheduled until autumn, is curated by DAFNE Restauri with the support of Coop4Art and Officina dei Talenti, and drafted in collaboration with the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Naples.
