The exhibition “Tolkien. Man, Professor, Author”, inaugurated on March 16th in Naples, at Palazzo Reale, by the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiulian, and promoted by MiC in collaboration with the University of Oxford, is recording “exceptional numbers”.
In just six weeks, from March 16 to April 28 inclusive, according to a note from the MiC, "81.864 people visited the exhibition. This figure surpasses the excellent result of the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome, where the exhibition obtained 80.266 admissions".
"The extraordinary success that the Tolkien exhibition in Naples is experiencing attests to the following and popularity of an author of great importance for twentieth-century literature. Thanks to our work, the public can learn about lesser-known aspects of Tolkien's life and works, grasping the values that are at the basis of his work: solidarity, friendship and the protection of humanity", commented Minister Sangiuliano.
