Greetings and Introduction
The day will begin with greetings from Roberto Pantani, Director of DIIN – UNISA, and Annamaria Sapienza, President of CD Davimus DISPAC – UNISA. Subsequently, Antonia Lezza will introduce the meeting, which will also be attended by Elvira Buonocore, playwright; Antonio Grimaldi, director; and Anna Rita Vitolo, actress.
The Volume
The volume presented contains the love correspondence between Stamura Segarioli, an elementary school teacher, and Francesco Fusco, a lieutenant doctor in the army, between 1913 and 1915. Unfortunately, Francesco never married his beloved and died before returning from the front. Their letters have been preserved thanks to his niece Rosa Fusco and, on the initiative of the Centro Studi sul Teatro, it was possible to publish the correspondence.
The show
The play “Il fiore che ti mando l'ho baciato” (The flower I send you, I kissed it) was created from the notebook of the same name, created on the occasion of the Centenary Celebrations of the First World War. The stage and dramaturgical writing is by Elvira Buonocore and Anna Rita Vitolo, while the direction is entrusted to Antonio Grimaldi. The play is a refined, touching monologue in which the protagonist, through letters, tells her unfortunate battle of love.
Interests and Project Details
The project was born from Professor Lezza's strong interest in unpublished texts or texts related to the Personal Archives. The notebook also includes the text of the play, photographs of the protagonists of the correspondence and stage images of the show. The show debuted in August 2015 in the house of Stamura and Francesco in Sessa Aurunca, Caserta, and has had numerous performances, always greeted with great enthusiasm by the public.
