The Fusion of Religious Beliefs and Pagan Rites
“Vedi Napoli e poi torni” is a project supported by the Department of Tourism and Productive Activities of the Municipality of Naples. The program takes both tourists and citizens on a journey through religious festivals, which represent a central element of Neapolitan culture. These events have always allowed the Neapolitan people to freely express their identity, regardless of historical dominations, through a mix of religious beliefs and pagan rites.
The Words of Councilor Teresa Armato
Teresa Armato, Councilor for Tourism and Productive Activities, emphasizes the importance of these events: “Our city tells its story in infinite ways: through music and theater, extraordinary places, museums, churches and monuments that contain fascinating stories and legends. The culture of food between tradition and contamination has become a central element of our guided tours and highly successful events. Each trip has allowed tourists and citizens to live a unique experience, immersing themselves in the ancient tradition of celebrating the patron saints of each neighborhood.”
