It's time to return to Naples, the time to return home: the new single by Shara, a singer-songwriter and performer of Campanian and Lucanian origins, who has always been the voice of the South of the world and of Southern Italy, is entitled "Stella Luntana".
### A Tribute to the Excellences of the South
The song will be released on all international music platforms on Friday, June 21, 2024, the day European Music Day is celebrated. Shara explains that the song was created as a tribute to the tenth edition of the Eccellenze del Sud Award, an event returning after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. The tenth edition of the award will be held on July 3 at Villa Signorini in Ercolano, with Shara spearheading the initiative.
### The Meaning of "Long Star"
Fresh from the success of her concert/show "Interludio" at the Teatro Posillipo in Naples, Shara shares the meaning of her new song: "Stella Luntana" speaks of a "night when the stars begin to shine." The song represents the call of her homeland, with natural sounds like the wind and the waves of the sea. It recounts the torment of those who live far from their homeland and dream of returning to their "Stella Luntana."
### The Official Video
The song's official video, directed by Michele Pesce, will be released on Shara's YouTube and Vevo channels. The video will highlight the song's two souls: one that evokes a distant place and another that takes us under the skies of Naples. The video was shot in two evocative locations: Pietracavalla Ranch on the Brescia side of Lake Garda and the iconic Terrazza delle Muse at the Grand Hotel Parker's in Naples.
### An Autobiographical Experience
The song, arranged by renowned musician and producer Gianluca Carbone, is based on Shara's autobiographical experience. The singer-songwriter recounts a traumatic awakening in London, which led her to realize it was time to return home. This personal experience inspired the song, which Shara dedicated to the Eccellenze del Sud Award.
### A Recognized Talent
A singer with a broad, warm, and versatile voice, but also a songwriter, designer, and producer, Shara—whose real name is Sarah Ancarola—recently received the prestigious Golden Lion—Venice International Grand Prix 2024. The award recognizes the talent and versatility of the singer-songwriter, who has illuminated the music and cultural scene both in Italy and abroad.
