Arpac technicians intervened in the Valle district of Avellino around 4.30 this morning, at the request of the Fire Brigade, for a fire that broke out last night, involving a prefabricated building.
At the time of the inspection, the fire appeared to be already in an advanced stage of being extinguished by the Fire Brigade.
At first sight, the flames affected bulky urban waste stored in the portico on the ground floor of the building. Near the site of the fire, a high-flow air sampler was activated to search for dioxins, furans, airborne asbestos fibres.
The results of the ongoing investigations will be released as soon as they are available.
