A protest took place today in the plastics department of the Stellantis plant in Pomigliano d'Arco, where some of the workers crossed their arms for about two hours.
The cause of the protest was the microclimate considered prohibitive by the employees. Mario Di Costanzo, automotive manager for Fiom di Napoli, made the event known.Di Costanzo recalled that during the last meeting with the company's top management in Turin, CEO Carlos Tavares had assured that there would be no spending limits to ensure worker safety. “Inside the plastics department workshops,” added Di Costanzo, “the climate has become unsustainable and the hot suffocating prevented any activity”.
“We wonder if there is any responsibility on the part of those who allow workers to work in these conditions, despite Tavares’ promises on the safety and health of workers. Our delegates will continue to support the workers.” The protest in the plastics department had no impact on production in other departments of the plant.
