An inter-force operation dismantled an illegal beach resort set up on a public beach, leading to the complaint of a 59-year-old local man, already known to the police. The operation, conducted by the Carabinieri of the Castellammare di Stabia company together with the local municipal police and the military of the Stabia Port Authority, took place in the beach areas of via Sorrentina, near the former railway colony.
During the checks, aimed at repressing illegal activities, 67 sun loungers, 20 deck chairs, 15 beach umbrellas, a refrigerated ice cream counter, a food display case and three wooden booths of about six square meters were seized. The checks revealed the presence of an illegal beach complete with equipment and services, made available to bathers upon payment, on an area of the municipal beach.
The owner of the seized equipment, a 59 year old Castellammare di Stabia, was reported for illegal occupation of public space without the necessary authorizations. The operation underlines the commitment of the police forces in guaranteeing the legitimate and public use of the coasts, contrasting the misappropriation of common goods.
