“About thirty years old, Italian, he was found hanged this morning in his cell in section G12 of the Rebibbia prison in Rome. Rescue efforts were in vain.”
He communicated it Gennarino De Fazio, general secretary of the Uilpa Penitentiary Police, explaining that “this is the 59th suicide of an inmate since the beginning of the year.
To these must be added the 6 members of the Penitentiary Police who took their own lives. Many, however, are the deaths of which the cause is unknown”.
