Avellino. New crackdown on the former Mayor of Avellino, Gianluca Festa, already under house arrest since last April for alleged fixing of contracts and competitions.
This morning a new blitz in the context of the “Dolce Vita” investigation: the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza executed a precautionary order issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office, ordering house arrest for Party and the architect Fabio Guerriero.
Both already under investigation, the new charges concern "multiple hypotheses of corrupt agreements" with three entrepreneurs, already hit by an anti-mafia interdiction.
The investigations, coordinated by the Prosecutor Domenico Airoma, hypothesize a "systematic subjugation of public functions to the private interests" of the suspects.
Several contracts awarded by the Municipality between the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024 were allegedly subject to corrupt agreements.
“A system of public procurement management based on the systematic sale of public functions and contempt for the rules”, according to the investigating judge.
40.000 euros each seized from the suspects, for alleged profit from the crime.
The operation is part of a broader investigation aimed at countering the pollution of the administrative activity of the Municipality of Avellino.
Objective: to protect public resources and equal opportunities among companies in procurement.
