The video of a fight between women at a well-known beach in Varcaturo over a sunbed on the shoreline is going viral.
In fact, some citizens sent the video to the Green Party MP, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, and Rosario Visone, regional co-spokesperson, who relaunched it on their highly followed social media channels.
And the video is of course making the rounds on the web. A witness said that, this morning, two women came to blows after they had demanded from the lifeguard a sunbed right on the seashore, to be placed in front of those who arrived early in the morning to get the best spot.
When the beach club employees refused, the ladies started a fight, first attacking those who were enjoying a day at the beach and then the lifeguards themselves.
“It took more than half an hour to restore calm”
“It took more than half an hour to restore calm”, the witness said, adding that even those who tried to separate them were defeated in their attempts to quell the fight.
“We are faced with a vortex of blind and unmotivated violence from which no one is immune. A fight between women in broad daylight, in front of families and children. For what? A sun lounger on the seashore.
We have gone beyond all imagination. Those who are not able to be among others, putting everyone's safety at risk, must be re-educated and cannot roam free spreading terror in our cities.
Good citizens are tired of suffering the abuses of these individuals who only know how to express themselves through violence and criminality. We need certain penalties and no mitigating circumstances because those who think they can do what they want, spreading panic on a beach, cannot go unpunished.
We ask that these women be identified and reported." This is what Francesco Emilio Borrelli, MP for Alleanza Verdi – Sinistra, and Rosario Visone, regional co-spokesperson for Europa Verde, said.
