The thrill of crossing the sentieri of the most famous volcano in the world at the most beautiful time of the day, at sunset, guided by expert professionals.
It is the sense of “Vesuvio and 'night”, the initiative promoted by “I Vesuviani”, an association of volcanological, tourist and park guides. Until September, a tour on paths 5 (large cone) and 9 (lava river) between history and myth to discover the wonders of the national park of Vesuvio.There are five events scheduled: Vesuvius and its legends, every weekend in August and September with an excursion to trail 5; the last days of Pompeii and Herculaneum, on the weekends in August and September on trail 5; Vesuvius and the stars of San Lorenzo, from 8 to 13 August on trail 5; Vesuvius and the feriae of Augustus from 14 to 18 August on trail 5; volcanic sunsets, weekends in August and September on trail 9.
These are cycles of excursions that will alternate depending on availability and weather conditions. During the excursions there will be meetings with artists, specialists, amateur astronomers, historians and volcanologists with readings of passages by Pliny the Younger and Matilde Serao, theatrical interpretations of the last days of Pompeii and Herculaneum. The wines produced in the Vesuvian area will also be tasted.
