The Taratella Festival of Valva: A Success of Culture and Food and Wine
The cultural and food and wine event in Valva, in the province of Salerno, was a great success, attracting over 3.000 visitors. The 26th edition of the La Taratella festival, organized by the Pro Loco D'Ayala-Valva with the patronage of the Municipality of Valva and Unpli, ended with an extremely positive outcome. Many emigrants returned to their hometown for this special occasion, making the initiative a true meeting point between past and present.
A dish that unites tradition and community
Taratella, a symbol of the identity of Val di Sole, is a traditional hand-made pasta, handed down by the grandmothers of the village and recognized among the typical dishes of the Campania Region. "Through the valorization of excellent local food and wine we create culture and tourism", declared Davide Forlenza, president of the Pro Loco. The success of the event is the result of a synergy between the elderly and young people of the territory, who together celebrate and keep the tradition alive.
Festival between culture and food and wine
The festival took place over three evenings, highlighting not only the famous Taratella dish, but also the history and natural beauty of the village of Valva. Visitors had the opportunity to explore historic sites such as the old town and the royal villa of Ayala-Valva. The event transformed Valva into a destination of culture, friendship and beauty, also attracting important figures from Italian politics and institutions, including the vice president of the Province of Salerno, Giovanni Guzzo, and former parliamentarian Guido Milanese.
A model of tourism success
For the president of the Pro Loco, Davide Forlenza, the secret of success lies in the unity of the community and in the ability to make local excellence known to a wide audience. “The Taratella represents the identity of our territory and it is precisely through its valorization that the Pro Loco makes known the beauty and authenticity of the village of Valva and its inhabitants,” he explained. This edition of the festival serves as a model of how culture and tradition can be powerful tools to attract tourism and promote the territory.
A positive result for the future of the village
The positive outcome of the festival represents a great opportunity for the future of tourism in Valva. The participation of over 3.000 people, including curious onlookers, visitors and people from Valva living abroad, confirms the importance of events like this for the promotion of local resources. With the collaboration of all generations of the village, Valva aims to reach new goals in tourism through a journey to rediscover its historical, food and wine and cultural roots.
