On June 18th he was found lifeless in his home in via Generale d'Ambrosio a few steps from the Albergo dei Poveri in Piazza Carlo III. He was lying on the sofa with bruises on his neck.

And - as Il Mattino anticipates - those marks were the clear signal of strangulation. Confirmation arrived after about two months from the forensic medical examination carried out on the body.

Now then, the mobile squad of Napoli under the coordination of the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office investigates for murder. The victim had drunk a lot of wine. Dozens of bottles were found on the ground.

The killer probably took advantage of his unconscious state and had an easy time strangling him with his bare hands while the man was on the sofa.

Genetic traces are being searched for both on Carlo Bocchetti's body and on the wine bottles, but also on the door and in the house.

The person who killed him was definitely someone the victim knew and who let him into the house. There are no signs of forced entry on the door or on the balconies and windows. And by the way, nothing was taken from the house.

Cameras could help investigators

This is the mystery. Why Carlo Bocchetti was killed. The police are combing through all the public cameras and private individuals present in the area to track down any suspicious movements.
