A new hearing took place today in the appeal trial for the murder of Nicola Zeppetelli, 40 years old, from Cervinara, in which Alessio Maglione, 32 years old, and Giuseppe Moscatiello, 24 years old, both originally from Cervinara, are accused.
The two, after having gone into hiding, were arrested two days after the murder in a house in Arienzo.
In the last hearing, the lawyer Vittorio Fucci, who represents most of the civil parties, including Frank Zeppetelli (brother), Assunta Marro (mother) and Giulio Zeppetelli (father of the victim), had requested the confirmation of the first degree conviction for Maglione and Moscatiello.
Then the lawyers Rolando Iorio and Marianna Febbraio intervened for the other civil parties, and the lawyer Luigi Petrillo for the defense of Moscatiello.
Today, instead, it was the turn of the lawyers Giulia Cavaiuolo and Pasquale Napolitano, defenders of Maglione. The Attorney General of the Court of Assizes of Appeal asked to respond to the arguments of the defense, and the Court accepted the request, setting a new hearing for October 15 for the reply.
