“I wanted to meet representatives of the institutions and citizens of the Vallo di Diano, an area that is about to experience a phase of growth also thanks to the construction of large-scale projects on which the MIT and I personally are paying close attention.
The new Salerno – Reggio Calabria high-speed line is destined to revolutionize connections to the advantage of the entire area, representing a driving force for tourism development and for the enhancement of UNESCO heritage monuments such as the Certosa di Padula”.
This was stated by the deputy and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Tullio Ferrante, who this morning visited the Certosa di San Lorenzo in the Municipality of Padula, accompanied by the Mayor, Michela Cimino.
“In particular, the one that interests the Municipality of Padula – continued Ferrante – is the Romagnano-Praja section (lot 1b+c) of the new railway line, for which the authorization process is currently underway, with the Public Debate phase concluded and the VIA and Service Conference procedures underway.
The Padulese territory will play a key role by hosting the railway station of Vallo di Diano, with respect to which I will bring to the attention of the appropriate bodies the request collected by the territory that would like to complete the name of the 'Vallo di Diano' station with an appropriate reference also to the Certosa di San Lorenzo, a site that in 2023 alone recorded the presence of approximately 100.000 visitors.
Thanks to this stop strategically we will project a neuralgic area of Campania, with its artistic and naturalistic heritage, along the main European trajectories, increasing accessibility for thousands of tourists and citizens to the territory of the province of Salerno and to unique works such as the Certosa, which I myself wanted to visit to admire all its beauty.
I will continue to work to promote investments in infrastructure and connections to internal areas – concluded the Undersecretary – so as to allow the territory to express all its potential”.
