An investigation by the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office led to the seizure of €546 in renovation tax credits, the result of a fraud against the state.
Finance police from the Naples Provincial Command have executed a precautionary seizure order against a sole proprietorship in Giugliano in Campania. The investigation uncovered a complex scheme of fraud against the state, based on the creation of fictitious tax credits linked to the Superbonus.
How did the scam work?
The investigated company, lacking any real economic activity, illegally acquired tax credits related to renovation work that was never carried out. To make the scam more credible, it involved three people who, unaware of the whole affair, were found to have transferred the non-existent credits to the company.
No work, just fake invoices
The investigations revealed that the company never issued invoices for work actually performed to the three individuals involved. Indeed, from 2021 to 2023, the company reported no revenue, confirming the fictitious nature of the entire transaction.
A severe blow to the Superbonus and the legal economy
This fraud, according to investigators, represents a serious attack on the system of building bonuses, an important tool to promote the energy requalification of the country. The illicit activities discovered by the Guardia di Finanza demonstrate how some individuals attempt to exploit the opportunities offered by tax breaks to enrich themselves illicitly, to the detriment of all citizens.
The investigations continue
The operation conducted by the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office and the Guardia di Finanza represents a severe blow to those seeking to profit from public resources earmarked to support the legal economy and the ecological transition. Investigations are ongoing to identify any other individuals responsible for this serious fraud.
