This is the third national strike action for the renewal of the bus and tram workers' contract. In Naples, the transport companies still report guaranteed departures.
Friday is expected to be a day of major disruption due to the 24-hour strike by local public transport workers. This strike, called for the renewal of the national collective bargaining agreement for bus, tram and tram workers, does not include guaranteed time slots as established by law.
The strike was jointly proclaimed by Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Faisa Cisal and Ugl Fna, who in a note declared: “On Friday 8 November, in compliance with law 146 on the right to strike, full service will not be guaranteed in the time slots that protect the mobility of travellers.
However, during the time slots established at a local level, the use of 30% of the travelling staff will be ensured, in addition to essential services for the community, such as connections to ports and airports and services of social relevance, such as disabled transport and the school bus for nursery and primary schools.”
In Campania, local public transport companies, including Anm and Eav, have indicated on their websites the lines and times in which the service will still be guaranteed.
