Next weekend, on all the fields in Italy, from the stadiums of Serie A to the category fields amateur and youth, arbitrators they will take the field with a black mark on face to say enough violence towards the race directors.
The decision was announced by the president of theItalian Association Referees (THAT), Carlo Pacifici, as a response to the latest serious incidents that have hit the category, putting the entire football system at risk."This sign aims to raise awareness among athletes about a real social problem", Pacifici declared. “Violence against referees must involve all the players in the world of football and sport. It is a problem that we can no longer ignore”. The initiative was born after yet another attack that occurred during a football match Third Category Lazio, an episode that once again highlighted the gravity of the situation.
“This violence is unacceptable and unjustifiable. Decisive action is needed not only from sports federations, but also from institutions, with concrete measures to stem the phenomenon", added the president of the AIA. The referees' gesture of solidarity aims to support their colleagues who are victims of aggression, but above all to launch a strong and clear appeal: violence must stop, and the entire world of sport must do its part to bring respect back to the playing fields.
