The biotechnology company is focusing on a new technique of medically assisted procreation Gamete, which announced the birth of the first child born in Peru using a revolutionary reproductive medicine technique.
According to the scientists (all women) who worked on the research project, the PMA technique Fertile will reduce the risks and side effects associated with the widespread procedures traditionally used for homologous and heterologous assisted fertilization.
In particular, with the use of special engineered cells obtained from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) it is possible to reduce ovarian stimulation with hormones. The times for stimulation thus go from a duration of ten/fourteen days with traditional techniques to only three days of hormonal treatment with the new technique.
Ultimately, oocytes can be matured with ovarian support cells (OSCs) engineered by researchers using this technique. In addition, the patient can be subjected to reduced ovarian stimulation.
This solution will reduce the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome and other symptoms, including nausea, vomiting and difficulty breathing. The new technique has been approved in some countries including Mexico, Peru, Paraguay, Australia, Japan, while in the United States the experimental phase has reached level three, awaiting final approval by the FDA.
