The music world welcomes a new original proposal with the arrival of 'Christmas in Naples', the recording debut of singer and songwriter Nello Longobardi. Produced by RMR Production, the album will be available to the public from December 6th.
The musical production stands out for the fascinating union between classical Neapolitan music and famous Christmas hits, offering an interesting combination of tradition and festive spirit.
A chance encounter
The idea for this musical fusion was born from an unexpected meeting between maestro Vincenzo Sorrentino and Nello Longobardi. Sorrentino, who directs the forty-piece orchestra and curated the arrangements, discovered the young artist's voice by chance, immediately proposing a collaboration that gave birth to this recording project.
A mix of traditional and international songs
The album features a mix of four songs, including “Fenesta Vascia/Happy Christmas (War Is Over)” and “Quanno nascette ninno”, the latter a classic by Sant'Alfonso Maria de' Liguori. The album also features the collaboration of Mario Maglione in the song “White Christmas/Mo' vene Natale”. The collection is completed with “Natale 'e tanta anne fa”, an original poem written by Longobardi. With the innovative fusion of genres and the presence of an emerging talent, this release marks a novelty in the musical panorama, promising to fascinate listeners with unique and engaging melodies.

The article presents an interesting musical proposal, but I am not sure if the fusion between Neapolitan classical music and Christmas songs will be truly appreciated by everyone. I hope that the album will be able to capture the attention of the public.
I'm curious to listen to this album too, but I wonder if the combination of genres might be too forced. It would be interesting to know how this idea was initially received.
