Arzano, 48-year-old worker dies after falling from ladder

Arzano – A new tragedy strikes the world of work: Marjorie Angela García Cruz, a 48-year-old of Ecuadorian origin, died this morning at the hospital in Pozzuoli.

The woman was involved in a serious accident at work that occurred yesterday at the “Daniele” company in Arzano.

The woman, respected by all her colleagues, was carrying out her normal duties when, for reasons yet to be clarified, she fell from a ladder, suffering a head trauma that left her with no chance of survival. She was first taken to the hospital in Frattamaggiore and then to the one in Pozzuoli where, however, her heart stopped permanently.

Marjorie, who arrived in Italy about 14 years ago, had built a new life working with dedication. For about a year and a half she had been employed by the company in Arzano, where she was appreciated for her professionalism and commitment. She leaves behind a 14-year-old daughter.

Investigations ongoing

The following people intervened at the scene of the accident: Carabinieri of the lieutenancy, who have started investigations to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the facts. The investigators are acquiring the testimonies of colleagues and viewing any security footage to clarify whether all the rules regarding safety at work were respected.

The ASL and the Labor Inspectorate have been informed of the incident and are collaborating with the police to carry out the necessary surveys and verify the state of the places.
