The bad weather is causing significant disruption to maritime connections to the islands of Ischia and Procida. Due to strong winds and very rough seas, numerous hydrofoil trips have been cancelled, while others have been suspended by shipping companies.
Currently, all fast connections to and from the port of Forio are interrupted, while departures and arrivals in Casamicciola remain regular. However, several scheduled trips from Molo Beverello in Naples to Marina Grande in Procida and Ischia Porto have been cancelled.
A more stable situation for connections made by ferry boats, which currently operate regularly both from the port of Naples Porta di Massa and from Pozzuoli. However, there are fears that further deterioration of weather conditions could also compromise these services in the coming hours.
The situation is being constantly monitored by port authorities and shipping companies, who invite passengers to check for updates and changes to travel plans.
