The Donnaregina Foundation for Contemporary Arts – Madre Museum presents a rich program of events for the month of March. From March 1st to March 30th, every weekend, visitors will be able to participate in a series of activities organized by the museum’s Education Department.
These include creative workshops for children, itineraries for adults and initiatives for families, as well as itineraries dedicated to pregnant women and new mothers, all aimed at promoting an inclusive experience in discovering the museum and its works.
Activities for the little ones
Among the initiatives planned, “MADRE KIDS” offers children between 6 and 13 years old special visits to the exhibition “The Years. Chapter 1”, curated by Eva Fabbris. During these meetings, the young participants will be able to express their creativity through the workshop “My Years”, inspired by the book by Annie Ernaux. Another appointment, aimed at children between 4 and 6 years old, includes a visit to the permanent collection and a workshop entitled “A tile for the Madre”, where the little artists will be able to create symbols that tell their memories.
Guided tours for adults
“MADRE WEEK” offers appointments for adults with guided tours of the exhibition “Gli anni” and the permanent collection. The visits include emblematic works by artists such as Carlo Alfano, Nan Goldin and Ugo Rondinone, to narrate important episodes of art history in Naples. To enrich the program, special initiatives such as “PRE MADRE”, aimed at pregnant women and new mothers, to visit the museum in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
Family events
For families, the “MADRE FAMILY” program offers events that encourage joint participation by parents and children. Activities include explorations of the permanent collection followed by the “Symbols, symbologies and projects” workshop, focusing on symbols related to Naples. The museum also participates in “Sunday at the Museum,” with free admission and an introductory visit to the history of the museum offered on the first Sunday of the month. The new educational proposals aim to involve a variety of visitors, to encourage a creative and interactive dialogue with the works of art. The program will continue in April, with an updated calendar available on the museum’s official website.
