Castellammare di Stabia – The Carabinieri of the local station have executed a precautionary custody order under house arrest, issued by the GIP of the Court of Torre Annunziata at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office, against a man from Gragnano.
The man is seriously suspected of attempted robbery and aggravated assault against a lawyer.
The investigations, conducted by police of Castellammare di Stabia and coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office, have collected substantial evidence against the arrested man. The man allegedly stopped a well-known lawyer on the street, claiming to be his creditor for an unspecified sum.
After repeated death threats, the attacker allegedly turned to physical violence, causing bodily harm to the lawyer and damaging his glasses.
The origin of the attack would date back to a road accident in which the arrested person was involved. The related civil case, followed by the law firm where the victim worked at the time as an employee, would not have had the outcome hoped for by the attacker.
Only the timely intervention of some passers-by prevented the situation from worsening and the theft of the lawyer's cell phone by the assailant.
The investigation, launched after the victim's complaint and supported by an in-depth analysis of surveillance cameras, allowed key witnesses to be identified. Their depositions were essential to corroborate the numerous indications of guilt against the suspect.
After the ritual procedures, the man was placed under house arrest at his home.
