Naples – A bike path is planned that could compromise the historic market activity. Street vendors ask for clarity and dialogue with local authorities.
The market in via Zuccarini, known for both food and non-food activities, is the subject of concern due to the planned cycle path Napoli north, part of a project financed through the Pnrr which will extend for fourteen kilometers up to Scampia.
Around 120 vendors, who operate in the market every Thursday and Sunday, mobilized outside Palazzo San Giacomo, the seat of the Municipality, with the aim of opening a channel of communication with the institutions.
Despite being an active reality for decades, this market has never been officially recognized. “But we are not ghosts – the operators repeat – we have been working in via Zuccarini for decades”.
