Nocera Inferiore – A 17-year-old was arrested and transferred to the Nisida Juvenile Detention Center on charges of stalking and the unlawful distribution of sexually explicit images.
The precautionary custody order was executed by the Carabinieri of Nocera Inferiore on 26 February, following a request from the juvenile prosecutor's office and a provision from the investigating judge of the Juvenile Court of Salerno.
The young man is accused of spreading explicit images and videos of his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend. According to investigators, the 17-year-old did not limit himself to spreading intimate material, but also threatened to throw acid in the girl's face, causing her a serious and prolonged state of anxiety.
The case once again highlights the gravity and consequences of the phenomenon known as “ revenge porn ,” underlining the need for timely and targeted action to protect victims and prevent further episodes of violence and intimidation.
It is sad to see how young people do not understand the consequences of their actions. The dissemination of intimate images is a serious matter and must be stopped. We hope this case helps to raise awareness among others.
