Old Bari, its charming alleys, the stadium and the seafront will be the stage of the documentary film dedicated to the life of Igor Protti, the legendary footballer who wore the red and white shirt from 1992 to 1996.
After filming in Naples, Messina and Livorno, the Bredenkeik production crew will arrive in Puglia on March 31st to carry on the project entitled “Igor. The Romantic Hero of Football”. Director Luca Dal Canto talked about the emotion of working on such a project, admitting: "I was prepared, but the emotion of shooting a documentary of this kind is indescribable. With this work, we relive what for us was a myth of our adolescence and a symbol of those 90s, so close but at the same time so far from today's social fabric."
The documentary will also feature contributions from great football personalities, including journalists, coaches and players such as Giorgio Chiellini, Walter Mazzarri and Beppe Signori, who will contribute to making the story even richer. Alberto Battocchi, author of the project, underlines: “This is further proof that Igor is loved throughout Italy, precisely because he is a symbol of romantic football and great values.”
After Bari, filming will move to Rome, at the Olympic Stadium, then to Treviso and finally to Rimini, with the recording phase concluding in mid-April. The documentary, supported by the patronage and co-participation of the Department of Sport of the Municipality of Livorno, the Guarantor of the rights of minors of the Puglia Region and the Department of Sport of the Municipality of Bari, promises to be an emotional testimony of a figure who has marked the history of Italian football.
