Salerno, – A tragic road accident occurred late yesterday evening on state road 166, in the Fonte di Roccadaspide area, in the Salerno area.

The collision between an Audi and an Alfa Romeo, for reasons yet to be ascertained, caused the death of two young people: a 26-year-old, who died instantly, and a 25-year-old, who died during the night in hospital due to the very serious injuries he sustained.

It is Luca Minella, 25 years old, waiter, died instantly, and Samuel Auricchio, 24 years old, gas station attendant. Died shortly after being transported to the hospital. A 28-year-old from Cava de' Tirreni remains hospitalized in serious conditions at the Eboli hospital: the prognosis is reserved.

The firefighters of the Agropoli detachment intervened immediately on site, extracting three more injured people from the wreckage, who were then entrusted to the care of the 118 health workers. The conditions of the survivors have not yet been made known, while the Carabinieri are conducting the necessary surveys and investigations to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident.

La strada state road 166, scene of the tragedy, was temporarily closed to traffic to allow rescue operations and investigations. The local community is shocked by the tragedy, which reignites the debate on road safety and the need for interventions to prevent similar tragedies.

Authorities are urging anyone with useful information to contact police to help clarify the causes of the accident. Meanwhile, the families of the victims and the injured are receiving the support and solidarity of the community.
