A 200-year-old was arrested in Salerno on charges of attempting to bring XNUMX grams of hashish into prison, intended for his imprisoned father.
The drugs were cleverly hidden in the bottom of the young man's shoes, but were discovered thanks to the infallible nose of Tyson, the prison police's drug-sniffing dog.
The operation, which led to the arrest of the minor, was praised by trade unionists Giuseppe Del Sorbo and Ciro Auricchio of the Uspp, who expressed “congratulations both to the dog handlers of the Avellino detachment, and to the permanent staff of the penitentiary police of the Salerno prison”.
The unionists also underlined the importance of the work carried out by Tyson, calling it “a nightmare for drug dealers”, and reiterated the professionalism and high specialization of the prison police in the fight against drug trafficking within prisons.
Despite chronic overcrowding and staff shortages, with a deficit of approximately 70 units, the Salerno prison manages to maintain internal order and security thanks to the great spirit of sacrifice of the agents.
“In Salerno – Del Sorbo and Auricchio conclude – despite the chronic overcrowding and the staff shortage, which stands at 70 units less, it is only with a great spirit of sacrifice that we manage to maintain order and internal security”.

It's incredible how a young boy can be involved in illegal activities, especially in a prison. Safety must be a priority and it seems like the officers and Tyson are doing a great job. Hopefully this will help prevent future situations like this.
