POZZUOLI – A new bradyseismic shock has been recorded in the Campi Flegrei area: according to the data of theVesuvius Observatory ofNational Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (Ingv), the earthquake had a magnitude of 2.0, with its epicenter at sea and at a depth of 3 km.
The event is part of the normal bradyseismic activity that has been affecting the Phlegraean area for some time, but continues to keep the attention of the authorities and the population high. In this context, the mayor of Pozzuoli, Gigi Manzoni, has issued an ordinance with which prohibits the dissemination of false or alarmist news, especially on social networks.
“Considering the current situation related to the bradyseismic phenomenon, citizens are required to inform themselves exclusively through official channels”, the document reads. The aim is counteract disinformation and prevent unnecessary alarmism, often amplified by uncontrolled sharing on social media.

It is important that authorities are active in countering disinformation. But in my opinion, people should also be more responsible in informing themselves. Fake news can create unnecessary panic among people.
