Despite a heavy 3-0 defeat at the Maradona against a Napoli team that is very much on the path to the Scudetto, Roberto D'Aversa looks ahead and underlines the positive attitude of his Empoli: speaking to Dazn, the Italian coach analyzed the defeat, with his eyes already turned to the very delicate relegation clash against Venezia.
“We came here bandaged up, with many absences, some of which matured at the last moment. Despite this, the team played with courage and created many opportunities. The regret remains for not being able to score”, commented D'Aversa. “In the long run, the difference in quality was visible, and those two goals conceded in five minutes in the second half closed the match.”
The Empoli coach does not hide his bitterness for the result, but saves the performance: "The boys made some mistakes, but they gave their all. I can't blame them. Now we have a crucial match against Venezia, and there we'll have to do everything we can to get a full result."
D'Aversa then added: “We have achieved little compared to what we have produced. It was inevitable to suffer against a team that is fighting for the Scudetto. We were aggressive, because we do not have the quality to wait. The performance must give us confidence: if we play with this spirit, we can play our cards until the end".

L’analisi di D’Aversa è interessante, pero credo che ci voglia piu attenzione nei momenti cruciali del giuoco. La squadra ha bisogno di lavorare sulla finalizzazione e non solo sul coraggio mostrato.
