Three people originally from Rione Traiano in Naples they were arrested and placed under house arrest on charges of aggravated theft in a home. The contested episodes date back to January 31, 2023, in Torre del Greco, and to the following February 17, in Castellammare di Stabia.
In both cases, the suspects allegedly entered private homes using sophisticated break-in techniques, such as the so-called “Bulgarian keys”, capable of opening locks without obvious signs of forced entry.
In the first robbery, in Torre del Greco, the thieves allegedly stole 1.000 euros in cash and jewelry worth about 3.000 euros. In the second episode, in Castellammare, gold jewelry, luxury watches, and designer bags were stolen.
The investigations were conducted by the agents of the Torre del Greco Police Station, coordinated by the Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office. The analysis of video surveillance images that allowed them to identify the license plates of the cars used by the thieves proved to be fundamental.
The tailing of the cars led investigators to Castellammare di Stabia, where two individuals were caught outside a building with the stolen goods in their hands and arrested red-handed. Two other accomplices managed to escape onto the Circumvesuviana tracks.
Subsequent searches allowed the recovery of the clothing used during the thefts and the collection of further elements useful for the identification of the remaining accomplices, one of whom was involved in the theft that took place in Torre del Greco.
The three individuals, identified and arrested, were subjected to the precautionary measure of house arrest.
