Naoiku – «To protect children from the dangers of cyberspace, parents must be parents, not friends to their children. We need more control and less Internet».
This is the harsh warning launched by the Attorney General of Naples, Nicola Gratteri, during the meeting “The protection of minors in cyberspace and new criminal scenarios”, held at the Fondazione Banco di Napoli as part of the exhibition “Superheroes, let's protect children together”.
Gratteri warned adults and children about the explosion of digital crime, with a particular focus on the dark web, which has become a real “black market” where it is possible to buy weapons, commission murders, steal and sell sensitive data. “Before, it was difficult to enter, now it is within everyone’s reach,” he warned. “Pedophiles no longer hide: they come out of the sewers, enter the web and lure you with flattery. You are in danger.”
A strong appeal also to young people: "Talk, live the house, don't lock yourselves in your room. Enough with the umbilical cord of the Internet: we need more real relationships, more affection, fewer screens".
The prosecutor finally raised the alarm on the growing role of hackers: "Every day the computer armies at the service of organized crime and terrorism are growing. It is a gigantic problem that many have not yet fully understood."
