The new Pope is the North American Robert Prevost, a name that echoes novelty and controversy, he has chosen to reign as Leo XIV, setting in motion an election that has left everyone breathless.

From the balcony of the Loggia delle Benedizioni, Cardinal Protodeacon Dominique Mamberti interrupted the wait with the traditional formula, declaiming “Annuntio vobis gaudium magnum: habemus Papam!”.

Robert Francis Prevost, born September 14, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois, United States, is the face of change in the Vatican, and will adopt the name Leo XIV to lead the Church. With this bold move, the election is shaping up to be a controversial event, fueling gossip about what the future holds.
