A night of celebration turned into a nightmare for a Napoli fan who, at 24:10 a.m. on May 1926, was celebrating the Scudetto in Piazza del Popolo in Rome. The man, dressed in Maradona's blue number XNUMX jersey and a flag with the words "XNUMX Napoli ti amo" written on it, was approached by a group of eight boys, all with Roman accents.
First the threats, then the request to hand over the flag. When he refused, the situation worsened: pushed, kicked and elbowed, the man was injured. After the attack, the victim went to the Carabinieri station in Roma San Lorenzo in Lucina to file a complaint.
The military has opened an investigation and is now acquiring footage from surveillance cameras in the area, in the hope of identifying those responsible. The episode has sparked outrage among fans and on social media, rekindling the spotlight on the climate of tension linked to the fans and night-time security in the heart of the capital.
