Tomorrow at 10 am, the actress Serena Rossi will be the protagonist of a special meeting with high school students at the Cinema Metropolitan in Naples, on the occasion of the screening of the film “Il treno dei bambini” by Cristina Comencini.
The initiative officially opens the project “Al Cinema per Crescere”, promoted by the Department of Schools and Youth Policies of the Campania Region and created by the Film Commission Regione Campania.
The film, based on the novel of the same name by Viola Ardone, retraces the true story of the so-called “happiness trains”, with which, after the Second World War, thousands of children from the South were welcomed by families from the Center-North. Rossi plays Antonietta Speranza, the mother of little Amerigo (Christian Cervone), offering an intense performance in a story that crosses misery, solidarity and hope for rebirth.
Lucia Fortini, regional councilor for Education, and Titta Fiore, president of the Campania Film Commission, will also participate in the morning and will illustrate the details of the project, born in synergy with the Presidency of the Council of Ministers within the framework of the Youth Policy Fund.
The viewing of the film – produced by Palomar and distributed by Netflix – is intended as a stimulus for reflection for teenagers on historical, social and cultural themes. “Il treno dei bambini” was selected precisely for its ability to touch deep chords in a young audience, in line with the mission of the project “Al Cinema per Crescere”, which includes a calendar of events throughout Campania starting next autumn.
Serena Rossi, known to the general public for her role as Mina Settembre and recently starring with Roberto Bolle in prime time on Rai1, is currently on a theatre tour with the musical show “SereNata a Napoli”.

The meeting with actress Serena Rossi seems like a nice initiative for high school students, but I'm not sure if the film can really touch on historical themes as they say. Maybe it will be interesting for young people.
I don't know if the film will be as interesting as it is said, but the meeting with Serena Rossi seems like a good opportunity for the kids to understand more about stories from the past that can teach a lot and give food for thought.
