Naples – Campania is preparing to rediscover and enhance 14 state-owned properties, opening up new prospects for cultural, tourist, social and residential development.
The State Property Agency has in fact included these assets in a new online section dedicated to investors, called “Create value, invest with us”, present on its website.
The digital platform offers a showcase of approximately 400 properties nationwide, geographically mapped and described in detail based on their potential intended use.
With regard to the Campania, the selection includes authentic pieces of history and architecture, ready to be recovered and repurposed.
Among the 13 buildings with a cultural-tourist vocation, the ancient bishop's palace, the central and subsidiary offices of the State Archives, the suggestive church of Santa Maria di Betlemme, the former Garibaldi barracks with the cloisters of San Giovanni a Carbonara, the former church of San Gennaro, the imposing former tobacco factory, the Maddalena pavilion, the historic site of the Royal Bourbon Powder Mill and the former San Marco barracks stand out.
Particular attention is also paid to social housing and reception for the elderly, with the availability of the Annunziata barracks. As for university residences, the former Canzanella barracks on via Metastasio represents an interesting opportunity. Finally, the Conte nuovo canopy lends itself to mixed uses.
The initiative of the State Property Agency aims to create a bridge between the interests of market operators, both profit and non-profit, and the vast public real estate heritage, directing investments towards urban redevelopment and the creation of value for the territories.
“This is an operation that adds a further piece to the process of digitalization applied to public real estate assets,” declared the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Lucia Albano, underlining how the availability of detailed information can attract public and private investments, contributing to urban redevelopment and the generation of value for local communities.
“Our goal is to put users at the center,” added the director of the State Property Agency, Alessandra dal Verme, highlighting the importance of an alliance with local authorities to ensure the success of long-term investments and transform abandoned properties into new development opportunities, in line with the needs of the current context.
In addition to the section dedicated to investors, the Agenzia del Demanio website is enriched with two other interactive platforms: “Properties owned and used by the State” and “City Plans”, offering a complete and transparent overview of public real estate assets and their growth potential.
