The fire broke out on May 5th in the neighborhood Barra of Naples has left worrying traces in the air.
Arpa Campania has released the results of sampling carried out between 5 and 6 May with a high-flow device positioned near the site. The data reveal a concentration of dioxins, furans and dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls equal to 4,9 I-TEQ pg/Nm³, well above the reference value of 0,150 pg I-TEQ indicated by the scientific community.
Furthermore, the monitoring station in Volla recorded, on the same day, an exceeding of the daily threshold of PM10 (50 µg/m³), a limit that the law allows to be exceeded no more than 35 times a year. Arpac continues to monitor air quality to assess any risks for the population.
